Although we’ve named it the maxillary buccal slab fracture forceps, for it’s usefulness in removing these fragments (see attached pics), these forceps have several uses and are a must in the kit of the progressive equine dental vet. 
With their low profile, they are also suitable for lower 11s in some cases. 
They are also known as a “turning tool" for rotating young adult teeth during extraction.
